still under investigation. >>> in union city a tow truck triggered a multi car crash. the drive lost control, hit two other cars and crashed into the center divide. traffic was slow going for a while. >>> two people hospitalized after a crash this morning. it happened about 9:00 a.m. this morning. a classic car collided with a why sedan. officials say two people injured were taken to the hospital. one person was seriously injured. the cause of the accident is under investigation. >>> california law enforcement is reporting an uptick in drunk driving arrests. 1,170 people were arrested for dui statewide compared to 980 in 2011. and 39 people died compared to 14 last year. in the bay area, 165 people people were arrest -- people were arrested. last year 188 arrests were made and no fatalities. they will beef up patrols again friday through tuesday. >>> the man who commanded -- general norman schwarzkopf has died. he commanded the u.s.-led international coalition that drove saddam hussein's forces out of kuwait in 1991. he retired in 1992. he rejected calls to run for office. he was 78

it's going to be some time on san jose city college that this is going to take before they give it the all clear. >> we just heard from the dean it have math and science on the phone here. he was telling us that they are also barricaded in their room. again, this entire campus on lockdown. it's been on lockdown since about 4:30 this afternoon. one person called, didn't identify themselves, said they'd seen an armed intruder on campus. since then there have been no other reports of an armed intruder. nevertheless, police taking this very seriously. they have swarmed the campus and are going through each and every room now checking to make sure there is no gunman on campus. >> one of the students told us given the time of year so close to the holidays that the campus is not a full campus. there are significantly less people on than would be on a normal time of year. right now, again, live pictures from news chopper 2. you can see officers making their way around the campus. we'll watch this, monitor the situation. if we get any new developments we let you know. we want to move on to othe

. now, basically what the deal involves is that civil rights attorneys and the city of oakland have agreed to a deal. they did so in federal court that would prevent the federal receivership of the oakland police department. the court documents outline a settlement that still has police reform an oversight just not by the department of justice. the agreement must be approved by the federal judge currently overseeing the case. instead of receivership attorneys, lawyers are calling -- instead of receivership, excuse me, lawyers are calling the deal receivership light. the department would be overseen by someone called a compliance officer. that person would then report back to the judge. ktvu's john was inside that room there where that press conference just ended moments ago and he's been following this story. john, take it from there. >> all right, frank, yeah, they just wrapped up this press conference about one minute ago literally. they just walked out. they're do ago town hall meeting on crime in oakland and we first had to talk about this receivership issue and the settlement w
